Hi Friends,
Here comes the much awaited post from me. To be honest, I was just reeling in the success of Asia’s First SQL Conference 🙂
Since last one year SSG Team was working rigorously to make sure you have a great time at SQLServerGeeks Annual Summit 2015. It was a long & a tough journey – organizing such an event, that too first time ever in Asia. It was not easy, loads of challenges, and it is not possible to describe this in words, the efforts and emotions that has gone into this mega event. One person was ready to fight the odds, come what it takes, and convert dreams into reality – none other than Amit RS Bansal. He had that conviction that we can do it. And I am very happy to say that SQLServerGeeks Annual Summit 2015, Asia’s First SQL Conference was successfully executed in a grand style. A long cherished dream was fulfilled. Kudos to the entire SSG team for this year: Manohar, Ahmad, Prince, Kanchan, Avanish, Ganapati, Sadan, Kruti, Surabhi, Kapil and our backoffice staff– the entire team slogged it for that one week and made it happen in the best possible way!
I still remember the day when I joined Amit in this journey, and that day really changed everything – we crossed so many milestones – built the SQL Community together, started so many activities. Climbing the ladder, from 0 to 10 to 100 to 1000 – the community was becoming bigger and nigger. I was learning on the fly – with a little hand holding and constant push, we were working towards this common goal – energizing and building the SQL Community in India.
In 2014 Amit handed over the baton to me to lead SQLServerGeeks.com as the President, I was so happy and at the same time eager to start the new journey. All of a sudden I was transformed from a follower to a leader. Don’t know how many of you can relate to this feeling, but it was out of the world. Leadership has many traits and one of the important trait is to identify more leaders. This is exactly what Amit did a year back. I just hope I did justice to this role in the last 18 months and it is such a proud moment to look back and realize that I held the position of The President when we executed Asia’s First SQL Conference. This is priceless for me!
Change is inevitable, has to happen. And change is required at every level, hence SSG Team also needed a change to further march ahead, earn greater success and do more for the community. Time flies so fast!
Finally the day arrived, it was 29th Aug 2015 – the last day of the summit. I started feeling nostalgic, I was so attached & busy with my schedule that never realized I have to let it go. And as part of the closing note, we disclosed and announced the new executive committee for term 2015 – 2017.
President: Manohar Punna
Vice President: Ahmad Osama
Editor-In-Chief: Prince Rastogi
So I’ve officially handed over the baton to Manohar Punna, very well deserved. And Manu hands over the VP role to Ahmad and likewise, Ahmad hands over the Editor role to Prince Rastogi. It was promotion time for every one 🙂 – and very well deserved. They all played their role so well in the success of SQLServerGeeks. Feeling bittersweet at this moment. I have enjoyed the role very much. I would like to thank the complete SSG Team for their support & special thanks to Amit Bansal for identifying that leader in me. I will continue to work for the SQL Community as a Board member. While Manohar & Ahmad will form a new working committee and start the work towards SSGAS 2016, here is what SSG Board looks like:
President: Manohar Punna
Vice President: Ahmad Osama
Immediate Past President: Sarabpreet Anand
Founder: Amit R S Bansal
Amit and I will continue to play the role of mentors for the new working committee and will work with the new team towards SQLServerGeeks Annual Summit 2016.
A hearty congratulations to the new leaders. They don’t need any introduction in the SQL world. They’ve earned this respect & recognition after working really hard towards the community. They possess the kind of energy and commitment which is required for this responsibility and I really feel they will take SSG to newer heights.
Happy to see that all four of us (SSG board) are recognized by Microsoft as Most Valuable Professionals for SQL Server – Thanks Microsoft for the support!
Cheers and see you soon at our upcoming SQL Server Day events.
Thanks,
Sarabpreet Singh Anand
Congratulations for the new leaders and thank you very much Sarabpreet for all the hard works.
Looking forward to the next SSGAS!
